Journey of a To-do List
Date: 8th February 2022
At first, I thought I was above all of it. That I don’t need a to-do list to stay productive. I’m above it (my ego was proud of me).
Then, under mysterious and unfortunate circumstances for ego, I tried maintaining a to-do list.
I got into the habit of checking out things from my list. The more items are done, the more productive I’d feel.
This eventually ended because I only started doing stuff to get them off my to-do list.
Stopped using them. (ego happy again).
Started maintaining it again after I got into the corporate world.
But got into the habit of doing the easy things first cuz I wanted to see that I’ve done stuff (even when they don’t matter).
This delayed the work which was a priority cuz my need to feel productive took over my responsibility to get the work done.
Realized I was doing chutiyapa. Got into the habit of doing the hard things first. There were days when I couldn’t check off even one task till the evening but once the hard tasks were done, doing the remaining ones was a cakewalk.
