3 learnings from VEC

Date: 1st May 2022

Ek mahina bhi nahi hua and here we go.

1. “Is it VEC?” That’s what Poonam asked when Kaushik was explaining his idea. What she meant was whatever job they are gonna do, is that something VEC was created to do? Will that work help VED succeed towards its goal?

Moral: Always have your purpose in your mind. Know what you’re working towards and don’t forget what’s essential.

The first day and I already learned the biggest lesson about running a company

2. Have lunch together. There’s no one time for lunch at VEC. Lunchtime is when everybody’s food has arrived. We sit in a circle and have lunch together every day. Everybody eats everybody’s food. Lunch is the most wholesome time there. I might not talk during lunch, but I love hearing them talk nonsense.

So, never eat alone. A team that eats together, stays together. Also, it’s fun watching Praneet trying different combos.

3. Having downtime is equally important as working hard. Not everyone can work around the clock and VEC understands that. I slept twice in my first 2 weeks. Nap* and nobody woke me up ordering me to get back to work. I got it all wrong. I thought all offices are strict. Of course, if I nap too much then they’ll say and I’m fine by that. This is how it is there. Also, our co-founders work beyond 10 pm and still understand others’ situations so you can imagine how awesome things are there.
